Community Involvement

Bytown Catering has always been a strong supporter of the local community. As a locally owned and operated independent business we understand the importance of participating in and contributing to the development of a strong community.

In 2020 we will be hosting our 20th annual Bytown Catering Golf Tournament . Since its inception we have raised over $100,000 for local and national charities including the St. Joseph Supper Table and the ALS Society of Canada.

In addition to hosting our own event, we provide sponsorship and support for many local fundraising and community events. Over the years we have supported groups that include the Optimists Club, the CHEO BBQ, the Montfort Hospital Foundation as well as many smaller fundraising efforts including United Way events, Haiti Relief efforts, and student-run events. To enquire about supporting your event, please email us your request at sales@bytowncatering.com.

Operating with a Social Conscious

Supporting our community includes more than supporting fundraising and community events. As part of building a diverse workforce, we work with local organizations to provide employment opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities and for recent immigrants. The awards and recognition Bytown Catering have received have a significant component based on how we treat our employees and our contributions to the community. Two awards in particular recognize our positive and forward-thinking employment practices:

  • “Prix de La Coopération” from Coopérative Horizon Emploi Inc. for employing and fostering an inclusive workplace for developmentally handicapped individuals. We have won this award five times.
  • “Passport to Prosperity Employer Champion Awards”, Provincial Partnership Council.
